Competitive

For kids ages 8+ who want to push the limits of their abilities on a fun and supportive Team!

The kids work closely with coaches in team training sessions and individually to:

  • refine climbing techniques

  • build strength on and off the wall

  • work on mental skills, comp routines/tactics, nutrition

  • being positive athletes and ambassadors for the sport

Kids on our Comp Team participate in competitions at many levels, from our in-house comps to SCBC sanctioned local comps, Provincials, Western Regionals, and Nationals.

The Competitive Program requires a year log commitment, and an annual membership is included in the program cost. Training eases off over holidays and the summer break, but it is expected that Team members continue climbing as often as they can.

The entry into our competitive program is for kids who are obsessed with climbing, have a solid base of skills, and want to challenge themselves on a new level.

This program is designed to get kids into the routines needed to be successful as competitive climbers and well rounded athletes. The kids will take part in 2-3 - 2hr sessions a week to get lots of time on the wall and introduce other training elements, but keep them fresh and engaged.

Additional sessions may be held outside of regular training days to work on: mental skills, cross training, team building, etc.

Participation in competitions is not mandatory, kids will be encouraged to join our in-house comps, and venture to other comps when they are ready. â€‹â€‹

Climb, train, compete!

Eat, sleep, repeat!

This program is for the kids who would sleep at the gym if we let them! They are keen, focused, and trying everyday to be their best climbing selves.

The athletes in this program are at the ranked provincial level and are goal oriented towards qualifying for Regional and National level competitions. The focus will be on building the physical and mental strength and resiliency needed to achieve their best results at competitions, and as well rounded athletes and humans. The Comp 2 athletes are role models in the gym for all the other up and coming crushers!

Competitive Team 2 athletes will have 2 scheduled 3hr Team training sessions per week and are expected to complete at least one more session per week on their own.

Additional sessions may be held outside of regular training days to work on: mental skills, cross training, team building, etc.
